Helping out in our community is an important part of who we are and what we stand for. St Luke Lutheran Church is committed to making a difference in the lives of our community in any way we can. Meet some of our long-term ministry partners below.

St. Luke shares a special partnership with the little round school in the Covered Bridge area of Smyrna. This endeavor started several years ago with a beginning-of-the year school supply project. Members purchased backpacks, supplies, snacks, and even funded a lunch account to help needy students fill their stomachs so they could learn. Several members also participate in the Russell Rockers reading program. Weekly, they come to Russell and read with and to K-5 grade students, forging strong relationships.

Reconciling in Christ

The Reconciling in Christ (RIC) Program is for congregations, synods, colleges, seminaries, and other Lutheran organizations and ministry communities who have made a public commitment to welcome, include and celebrate lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA+) people. By having a statement affirming this welcome that specifically names either, "LGBTQIA+ people" or "people of all sexual orientations, gender identities and gender expressions" in their statement, these faith communities are accepted into the Reconciling in Christ partnership with ReconcilingWorks.
