In response to the current public health crisis, we moved all of worship services and activities online beginning March 15, 2020. On May 23, 2021 (The Day of Pentecost) we began experimenting with an outdoor service in the St. Luke parking lot). In keeping with guidelines provided by the Southeastern Synod of the ELCA (found here), we request the following from anyone attending in-person services:
Please arrive at St. Luke between 10 - 10:15am and park in the Atlanta Girls’ School lot. If you have accessibility issues with stairs, there will be a few spaces reserved in St. Luke’s lot.
Bring your own chair if at all possible. We will have the seating area marked with chalk spaced at least 6 feet apart so that each family unit can sit together.
Take measures necessary to prepare for being outdoors for approximately 45 minutes (i.e., apply sunscreen and bug spray, take outdoor allergy medications if needed, bring a water bottle).
Dress comfortably and for the weather. There is no need to wear your Sunday best (unless you’re just dying to wear that seersucker suit somewhere). God and St. Luke accept you just the way you come!
Pay attention to your e-mail and St. Luke’s Facebook page for weather cancellation. If it looks like it will rain, we will NOT gather outdoors for worship. This decision will be made and communicated Saturday evenings by 6pm.
Wear your mask! We want to be able to sing as a congregation, and in accordance with our current guidance we must wear masks outdoors to be able to SING! So please wear your mask. As an inclusive and welcoming body, we cannot assume everyone is vaccinated and are taking the necessary steps to protect everyone.
We will have a second service on Facebook Live that will air at 12pm to serve our growing online congregation! Please take advantage of this option if you have reason to be concerned for your health or the health of others.
Please don’t linger. We may have a desire to stick around after service and visit with one another. Until we get the hang of our new protocols, we won’t have social time following the worship service. Viral Solutions will start seeing patients in our parking lot beginning at 12pm.
Take advantage of this time to gather in small groups! The world is abuzz with the loosening of mask restrictions. St. Luke leadership has to make decisions based on the health and well-being of a large group of people, but that doesn’t mean our members can’t organize small gatherings. Be creative and reach out to one another!
Bring a heap of grace and a sense of humor! We don’t know what parking lot church will look like or how it will manifest for St. Luke, but we do believe the Spirit is there with us. As a community, let’s work together to celebrate this special time and make it as safe and accessible as possible.

Tuesdays Starting at 12pm
Pastor Noah leads us in a brief 5-10 minutes contemplative moment for a break during the busy week. Catch us live on Facebook at noon on Tuesdays or watch at any other time you need to slow down and take a breath.
